Fire on The Universal lot this morning

There was a huge fire on the Universal studio lot this morning. It wiped out the King Kong exhibit, and threatened the set of New York, as well as the film vault. Hopefully the vault remained unharmed, as that's the only thing that can't be replaced.

Apparently it also destroyed the courthouse square from Back to the Future. I'm reading an article about it now on Yahoo. Not a happy situation, and it burned for hours because the water pressure for the fire hoses was too low. :(

I haven't heard an update of it this morning.

Hopefully nobody was hurt, and they didn't lose any irreplaceable films from the vault.

They're saying that the 40,000 tapes lost in the vault were backed up somewhere else so that nothing is lost forever. There were a couple of outside sets completely destroyed.

Yeah, I live pretty close to it and could smell something burning. It was very strange. I hope nobody got hurt. :(
