Just watched the new season kick off this evening. I missed the first 30 minutes of it, but it is still the same ole' idol with my favorite judge Simon still at with his sarcastic comments. I am just hoping it doesn't turn out like last season. I just couldn't get into the finalists from last season.

I guess I am what you would call a fair weather fan of this show if even that. I like to watch the auditions and see Simon be rude, but when it gets down to the main competitors I lose interest.

According to TV Guide (which is owned, unfortunately, by News Corporation, which also owns Fox), the producers of AI have promised to prevent another Sanjaya incident and improve the show. Whether their fixes will work remains to be seen.

Boy I hope so, but not about the Sanjaya because his cute little butt is about all I liked about last season. This year has started out with a BANG ! I cannot WAIT for tonight!

It wasn't on tonight  . Bummer because I thought it was too and Prison Break was on instead. Maybe tomorrow ? I know San Diego auditions are up next and I have been waiting to see those because my friend auditioned there.

Argh, it was on last night and I missed it . These are the times I wish I had TIVO. Did anyone catch it last night? What did I miss ?

Someone else told me it was on on Monday night and I was like, no, it's not. That's Prison Break and Sarah Connor night.
Interesting fact. A 30 second commercial on AI costs $900,000.00.

Why did you like Sanjaya? I thought he was the worst contestant that Idol has ever had in the top 10, even top 24. I was go glad when he was gone and almost stopped watching the show for good because of him.

Sanjaya pretty much sucked when it came to singing, but I liked him because he was interesting and entertaining (minus the voice). The rest of the singer could sing great, but they were as boring as a stack of nails. Last season was by far the worst.

When a show becomes dependant on a joke - and unfortunately Sanjaya was the butt of a joke - for being "interesting and entertaining," that's a bad thing. Especially in a talent show.

I'm sort of like that, except the other way 'round. I don't like the auditions and sometimes think Simon is a bit harsher in the U.S. show, but I sometimes like to watch the final shows.

I'm enjoying the show so far this season. I am noticing though that they have gotten much tougher. I guess they are making sure that there are no more Sanjaya's that get through. But really, they are rejecting some folk with amazing voices. The pilot girl I thought was brilliant but they didn't give her a chance because they said her nerves were off.

Yep, I am noticing that too. Its a good thing though. I would rather them be overly tough then overly lenient.
I have also noticed Paula is looking much more refreshed this year. I have a good feeling about this season.

Looks like they went to Atlanta again. They are airing the show next week. I cant really say I blame them. They have pulled a lot of good talent out of the Atlanta auditions year after year.

Atlanta always seems to pull great talent to that city. I guess they maybe heading back their again next year. I really cannot blame them. You have to go where the talent is anyway.

I don't like american idol anymore, I watched the season with kelly clarkson, ruben studdard, and fantasia barrino, but other than those seasons I haven't watched. I only really like to watch the first couple episodes where there are people who totally suck but think their amazing at singing, their funny to watch. I don't really like when it gets serious.

I enjoy watching this show. It is amazing to see how some people have such extreme talent and are finally starred and many will go on to make it in the world.
