The Bratz movies are HORRIBLE

What the heck do young girls see in these wanna be Barbies? And where are their noses? I watched a few of the movies ( was forced to by a 5 year old) and they are just rubbish. I don't get it at all.

Let's face it; most studios treat family movies or kids' movies as the ugly stepchildren of the film industry. The real money is in R-rated fare, and the studios tend to greenlight films that have tie-ins to toys and games. That's why The Bratz movie exists...:(

My daughter owns about 5 Bratz movies and over 50 Bratz dolls. I personally do not get it either, but I never really go Barbie too much for that matter. At least though, most of the Barbie movies center around classic tales ( The Nutcracker, Rapunzel etc), but the Bratz movies seem to be just aimless garbage about going to the mall or on scary rides. I guess someone knew something I don't though, because the Bratz are still popular and are still grossing millions.

Ah, the Bratz girls.

I think all they teach young impressionable girls is that consumerism and stuff like going shopping and such tripe is the end-all be-all about being women. Mindless fun is okay, but not Bratz-style mindlessness.

I hadn't heard about this movie until I saw Ebert & Roeper yesterday and it was listed in that show's list of Worst Movies of 2007. What a stinker!

Which one? There are several, but I think only one where it is not a cartoon, and yeah, HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE ! Yet it's selling like crazy on dvd. Go figure...

Ebert & Roeper (sans Ebert, who's still not back on the show) said the bad one was the live action one released last year.
