I think this is one of the best out there and one of a kind, but you really have to be a horror movie fan to enjoy it. Does anyone remember the very first murder scene? After I saw that I was almost too shocked to keep watching, but I did. I also like how there are hints of dark humor combined with some of the sickest death scenes I've ever seen. Definitely a classic horror flick.

Oo, this movie still scares me. Leather Face gives me the chills. And can you believe he was trying to flirt with that girl with his nasty ugly self? UGH ! You know I still have not seen the new one. I wonder if its any good, because I love me some scary movies.

Although I like some of Tobe Hooper's later movies, this wasn't my horror movie-watching cup of tea. It's not as bad as, say, Sometimes They Come Back, but of Hooper's films, I'd rather watch Poltergeist.

I never liked Poltergeist really and think it was over hyped because of some of the writers. A friend told me he would have never thought twice about watching it had he not know that Spielberg help write it. But TCM is a bit TOO scary. The murder scenes are so in your face it is as if you are right there.

Is this one as gross as the "Saw" movies? If it is, I'm not sure my stomach could handle it.

I assume most people are talking about the original?
I liked it when I saw it back in the day, and I also like the remake, including the prequel.
They have a definite style to them that I think is great if you're into those movies to start with.

I liked teh original better. I remember when it first came out. And it just was the first grizley movie i had ever seen. It also made me look up now in my later years teh story behind it, and there was atrue series of stories that was put together.
The second seemed a bit more concentrated on blood and gore and less on making yuou creep out. It was a good horror flick but i always suggest the original first...

The first installment is great. My kids this past weekend finally got to watch the orginal one and it scared them. If they heard a tap on the window they would get scared. lt was a one of a kind movie.

I am not into all the blood and gore for no particular reason. Just to gross for me to like. I always enjoyed the poltergeist movies.
