First Brad Renfro passes, and now Heath Ledger. I really hope that the old myth "death happens in 3's" is not true. I have loved Heath Ledger since " 10 Things I Hate About You".

I have so much respect for him for taking a chance and doing Brokeback Mountain. And he was did an impeccable job. I think he could have went on to make blockbuster after blockbuster. This is tragic news indeed.

From what I've seen on the news, it doesn't look like Heath committed suicide. He has been quoted as saying that playing the Joker really stressed him out and that once, after taking Ambien, he woke up after only two hours.

Pity. The guy really had acting ability and could have been his generation's superstar.

Any future list of great actors will have to include Heath Ledger, if only for his performance in Brokeback Mountain. It's quite gutsy for a straight man to play a gay role convincingly, especially in a society that doesn't seem to mind straight women doing lesbian roles but still cringes at the sight of two men in love.

I have only one of his films in my DVD collection, The Patriot; it's going to be painful to watch his death scene in that one from now on.

I was watching the news last night and it said that there was videos released of Heath doing cocaine at a nightclub. I don't know what to think of that. On one hand I think it is horrible to put his parents through that, but then again on the other hand it just drives the message home more that yes, idiots, drugs effin' kill.

I think the media has turned into a pack of money grubbing vultures, digging up anything about everyone and using it to make more money. (Of course, the public helps by paying attention to the media, so it is a two-way street.)

Pity, that people have a need to try and ease life's pains by turning to drugs or drink. I'm not a teetotaler - I've been known to have a beer or a couple of glasses of wine now and then - but I can't understand how people will start using hard drugs, think they won't be addicted, then die from an overdose.

As for Heath, I only saw a few of his movies, and what I saw of him as an actor, I liked.
