One of the funniest movies I've seen is Three Kings, which is a military-caper comedy that seems to have been inspired by Kelly's Heroes. Both movies are about U.S. soldiers who go looking for gold behind enemy lines, although Three Kings takes place during and after Desert Storm in 1991.
I love George Clooney's performance as the crafty officer who leads the small group of soldiers into southern Iraq on the search for stolen gold bars taken by Iraqi soldiers from Kuwait.

Archie Gates: Sit down. What do you see here?
Chief Elgin: Bunkers, sir.
Archie Gates: What's in them?
Troy Barlow: Stuff they stole from Kuwait.
Archie Gates: Bullshit. I'm talking about millions in Kuwaiti bullion.
Conrad Vig: You mean them little cubes you put in hot water to make soup?
Archie Gates: No, not the little cubes you put in hot water to make soup.
